there are actually many different body types for a gymnast. They are generally short, but some like Nastia or Khorkina look tall with the others, even though they are only about 5'3" http://blogs.20minutos.es/myfiles/quefue... (the skinnier gymnast) http://www.gymnasticsmedia.com/Portals/9... (a more powerful gymnast) generally, the taller ones tend to be very elegant. They are also usually better at bars than vault. Here's a gymnast who was very short during the beginning of her career, and they grew taller and less cutesy. (I am not insulting her as a cutesy gymnast, she was the best ever :) ) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bkzn3O2R... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LcG9NTGqfEk you can see how her style changed from when she was younger. but either way, she was able to tumble, be expressive and get the crowd going. what you see here is that when she is taller, she looses some power. Usually taller gymnasts art "twisters" instead of "flippers." You can see her trouble on the double pike at the end of the second routine, compared to the first routine. I think Lilia Podkopayeva (the 1995 world champ and 1996 olympic champ) had the perfect body for a gymnast. She wasn't short and stubby, but she also could get a lot of power on floor and vault. http://content9.flixster.com/poll/18/24/182499_std.jpg Being short is good for some things, but I prefer a gymnast with some height. I also like gymnasts to not be too skinny. this: http://img291.imageshack.us/i/rebeccaclarkwu5.jpg/ makes me wonder about what kind of diet she must be on.

Depends on the gymnast. And many times their body determines the type of gymnastics they do. Most are on the shorter side. There are some that have more upper body strength or more lower body strength. Others more even between both. But the body determines their style to an extent. That's why Shawn Johnson's gymnastics is all about strength and power. She's a bit on the short side but stocky and has large leg muscles. So she can take advantage of a lot of power. Nastia on the other hand doesnt have the strength that Shawn does so her gymnastics are a bit different and focuses more on the grace and beauty of the skills. (And yes sometimes judges prefer one style over another. It's always been a debate in women's gymnastics on whether it should be about beauty or raw power and physical ability). They arnt all flat-chested. Most gymnasts have small breasts because they work out so much that the fat tissue develops extremely slow. That's not always true though. Alicia Sacramone has some large breasts for a gymnast.

Look at Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson*. Nastia is tall and skinny, Shawn has more of a stocky, petite body type. There's no exact standard for a gymnast's body type. Also, different people lay down muscle in different ways. *http://msnbcmedia1.msn.com/j/msnbc/Compo... (Nastia and Shawn)

OMG, do not do that diet, it is starvation with a different name-all you have is juice for breakfast, salad for lunch, and an apple for dinner. it was made up by someone on a pro-ana website and is deadly. all i can say is eat healthy, cut down on snacks and run, jump, skip, cycle your way thin. personally i think you should make your own diet as then you can find what works best for your body. also, the russian gymnast diets messes up your metabalism and you eat an extra anything you will weigh like 300lbs really fast for legs just cycle and run and this helps our all over body! hope i helped xxx p.s you are underweight for your hight so i do not suggest dieting at all! you could have damaging side affects and they are probably happening now! i am not trying to upset you but have you ever had a period??? if not you should tell by now you are too thin
