Question: ok well im 13, im a girl...i'm just wondering if i should be watching calories AND sugars..or just calories...i have been watching just calories... and also, if you have any tips on helping me loose weight that would be great! i have been watching what i eat, counting calories when i can (my family has homemade food and doesn't have nutrition facts) and i have been taking an hour long walk when the weathers nice (its winter in Minnesota..the weather is unpredictable..when its above 30 i take a walk) and i have gym for an hour a day and i play the wii fit for at least 10 minutes am i doing enough? i have been loosing weight, but it might be from what time i weigh myself...i usually weigh myself before i eat a snack..because the only thing that i eat before my snack is a granola bar for lunch... am i doing enough? should i be watching sugars? any tips?

You don't have to count sugar. However, it has addictive qualities and isn't particularly healthy, so you shouldn't have much of it. Just keep to a balanced diet with foods like grilled chicken, fish, and lots of fruits and veggies. A granola bar isn't a proper lunch. It should be your snack and you should bring a lunch like a sandwich with lean meat on whole wheat bread. You should eat breakfast as well. Just watch out for fatty foods like bacon and sausage and refined sugars like donuts and some cereals. You need to eat three meals a day, just make sure it's healthy foods and small to moderate portions. The best time to weigh yourself is first thing in the morning after you pee.

Hum, you are only 13 years old i find that too young to start a diet. But here some little simple tips: - eat balanced food and avoid copious meals - drink green tea, it is a fat burner - do some sport exercices daily or go to swim weekly. (i think 30 mn of sport daily, it is perfect ^^)

you're 13??!?! jeez you really do NOT want to be counting calories or anything at your age you should be out having fun with friends, doing homework etc please don't lose weight you don't need to your body needs the calories it can get as you're growing and will really need them! it can even stunt your growth! Seriously that's quite a lot of exercise too, please don't count calories - it becomes VERY dangerous!

use the freezer to add some extra oomph to summer foods freeze grapes for some bite sized delights or get a popsicle mold and freeze some greek yogurt with berries
