I have a friend (who is in her 60's) that recently started a diet that is working very well for her. She has lost 13 pounds in 4 weeks...which is a lot for someone her age. It gets much harder the older you get. Here's a brief description, if you would like to know anything else just send me a message. From the time you get up until noon - eat fruits, which ever ones you like and how much ever you want For lunch and dinner- have a starch (such as a baked potato or pasta) and a salad or vegetables OR have a protein (such as chicken or a hamburger patty) with a salad or vegetables or beans. Do not mix the starches and proteins together. The whole idea behind the diet is that when you consume starches and proteins together your body has to work harder to digest them, therefore they stay in your system longer, you absorb more fat and your body is struggling because starches and proteins have two different methods of digestion in your body. Lets say you eat pasta (starch) with tomato sauce (no meat!) and a piece of bread (starch) for lunch then an hour later you get hungry. You can eat another starch without hurting your diet. But if you are going to change from starch to protein you have to wait three hours before you eat again....to give time for the digestion process. I know it sounds crazy but after her results I have no reservations about it working for you or anyone AND it does not severely limit what you can eat. Just stay away from sweets and cola's, including diet ones...they are bad for you...on a diet or not. Just keep those to a once in a while splurge. At your age you aren't going to have to start a serious workout to help you....walking around your neighborhood or your house (especially if there are steps) would do the trick. Just make it a daily thing. But don't over do it and hurt yourself. Build up to longer and longer walks...maybe even jogging eventually. Motivation is easy at first. But I have heard some ideas that I thought were pretty good. -Buying the jeans you would like to wear eventually and hanging them up in your room. -Eating in your bra and panties in front of a mirror...lol. Also try to find an online community where you can talk with other people about problems you are having with your diet or exercise. http://sparkteens.com is a great place and it's free and they offer tools to help you keep up with your weight loss, what you eat and even offer exercises with video demonstrations. Good luck and remember...if you can change your habits now it will be much easier for you for the rest of your life.

Hi :D Okay first of all, you have to be really committed to this weight loss plan. If your motivation is low, google weight loss success stories [: Try reducing your junky foods, and replace them with healthier meals like salads, lean chicken breast, tuna packed in water, etc. Try replacing your soda drinks with water. If you dont like water like i do, i put crystal light water flavoring in there. The best part about that is that it's only 5 calories. Try exercising as soon as you wake up because it gives your metabolism a kick start and just basically smacks it in the face and forces you to burn calories. Seperate your meals 2 hours apart. Your meal plans should be like this : breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, and then you must stop eating after this . If you eat right before you sleep, it all converts to FAT because you didnt give your body enough time to digest. Switch up your work out routines because your body will get used to it and you won't lose weight anymore, or get anymore results. If this ever occurs google : how to break a weight loss plateau. Find out how many calories you need to eat to lose 1 or 2 pounds a week. Since i dont know your height i can't do this for you sorry D: Best of luck !

Hey!, we are almost EXACTLY THE SAME! i am 13 years old, 5"4 and weigh 140 lbs... :O lol so this is what i did.... my mom helped me and let me go on jenny craig....... it is kinda expensive though..... so this is the exersise i do.... 45 min- 1 hour and 30 min of tae kwon do (aka karate) 3-4 times a week and i play on my wii fit about every night for about 1 hour. i get 1500 calories a day.......... you dont need to go on jenny craig, you just need to count your calories...... easy ways to put down the amount of calories you eat..... get fat free milk when your at a movie theater get a pretzel rather then candie and nachos...... pretzels with mustard are aprox. 250 calories where as a normal sized bag of skittles is 830.... :O to help fill you up, eat a salad and vegitables with your meals........ this is what i eat...... small breakfast like a muffin (provided by jenny craig, low in calories) with a hand full of fruit or 1 cup of orange juice (NOT BOTH) then 3 hours later i eat a small snack like a granola bar, 3 hours later i eat lunch, a chese enchilada with spanish rice and bell peppers, 3 hours later i eat a snack such as veggitable chips or a energy bar, 3 hours later i eat dinner suck as macaroni and chese with green beans and carrots, and if i dont eat my snack then i get a small desert. I have only been on this diet for 3 weeks..... in 4 days i lost 2 pounds, and on an average i lost 3 lbs a week, but then i cheated and ate 4 slices of pizza and 6 cups of soda (it was valentines day, what can i say? :( ) (not a good idea) when i cheated i gained 3 lbs :O LOL BUT PRETTY MUCH WHAT I AM SAYING IS COUNT YOUR CALORIES AND EAT 1500 CALORES A DAY STRICTLY AND WORK OUT A LITTLE!
