Question: Last summer i became a vegetarian (June) and was a full vegetarian until November when my hair started falling out. So my parents pretty much forced me to eat only chicken (so i was a semi-vegetarian?) But now, i want to become a full vegetarian again for PETA and health reasons (mainly for PETA) I havent eaten any chicken in a week and so far my parents havent said anything, but i am still nervous because both of my parents hate me not eating meat...any ideas on how to talk to them? I was mainly wondering if anyone had any healthy and easy vegetarian dishes that a 15 year old teenage girl can make. The dishes also need to have a lot of protein again so my hair doesnt start to fall out. I already eat a lot of natural peanut butter on whole wheat bread, but does anyone have any quick and healthy breakfast ideas? -I do eat eggs, cheese, and drink fat free milk Thankss :]

You may benefit from seeing a dietitian to help you. I saw one last year and they are really helpful. Here are some high protein foods that I consume for protein: Breakfast: High protein cereal (check nutrition labels) Tofu scramble on toast Soy milk (fat free) Soy yogurt Lunch/Dinner: Tofu and vegetable sandwich Lentil soup Split pea and vegetable soup Beans and rice Chickpeas and vegetables with pasta Noodles with vegetables and tofu Vegetable stir fry with rice Search for vegetarian and tofu recipes on google. Iron and protein is found in legumes (lentils, chickpeas, beans, split peas), tofu, leafy greens and nuts. Walnuts are also a good source of omega3. Make sure you eat plenty of fruit and vegetables.

ALL mammals need proteins while growing and the other species nurse until grown . You want your mom to start nursing you ? On what basis are you calling protein deprivation for a child healthy ? Not only is your body not fully grown , the bad bad bad food plan you're going for is causing you Mental Retardation . You're going freaking bald as a teen and are so mentally diminished , You're calling it healthy . What more proof do you need that your loosing your mind ? LISTEN TO YOUR PARENTS / OBEY THEM . They might be able to reverse the brain damage you're doing to yourself . good luck >

I drink a spiru-tein protein drink. I actually just bought the powder today at GNC. They have a deal going on buy one get one 1/2. I bought chocolate flavor and strawberry. I tastes just like chocolate miilk. (I haven't tried strawberry). So i'm sure it will work. (My nails were getting really flimsy/one fell off). This is what I do for lunch most days. My mom marinates chicken in Good Seasons Garlic and Herb salad dressing for a few hours and then grills it. We have it for dinner and put the leftovers in the fridge. the next day, I eat it for lunch with some veggies and whatever else I can find. Or I just heat up some progresso soup (the ones with the weight watchers numbers) Its yummy. But the chicken is easy to cook and delicious! I highly suggest it.
