Question: My mom is 66 years old and has been active more or less throughout her life. She tries to walk at least one to two miles everyday. Lately she has been saying that she feels tired and she get pains in her knees and back. Stretching is not helping her much even though it had worked before. She takes fish-oil, supplements for blood sugar control, blood-pressure and diabetes medications. What should she take (food/supplement) in addition to what she is taking now to handle the weakness and pain? She does not eat much and watches her diet. She is hesitant to take Glucosamine as she had heard that it might affect blood sugar negatively.

stop taking statins. You did not mention it but standard of care for diabetics is statin use, even though they increase blood sugar. Also eliminate ALL grains to reverse "leaky gut". I guarantee, if she does these two things, she will feel great. Pharmacist whose life was ruined by lipitor

Your mom would do well to go see a Naturopath. Her adrenal levels might be low. Self help has its limits. She needs a health assessment by someone who can take a holistic/whole person approach. Glucosamine hasn't panned out so well in the latest research. BTW 66 is no longer considered to be "elderly".

I disagree with what the bulk are announcing. From reading what you wrote, i do not consider you've got a form and tender coronary heart... But that is simply my opinion. No longer all senior residents are unhappy/depressed and helpless. Many have lived and continue to are living a gratifying life. I think (and this is what i have been informed) that senior citizens do not want humans feeling sorry for them at all times. Some additionally select to not have people do things for this... And that i agree with this, considering the fact that they have to do the matters they're able of doing. It's alright to do fine gestures for them every now and then, however they have got to be encouraged to do for themselves. Movements of everyday living are foremost and by means of allowing them to do matters on their possess... Gives them a way of self valued at. I'm a CNA, so this is proper for probably the most part. You will have to never suppose sorry for the aged, considering the fact that they have carried out a lot in existence and have so much to present. They have got knowledge and to make an effort to communicate with them, which you can be trained a lot of life lessons. I in my view be aware of many older individuals that do not like more youthful people doing matters for them. By using doing so, it makes them believe helpless... Primarily considering some of them are greater than able. Of path, this isn't true... And the one factor many people hate most is when younger people communicate to them as in the event that they had been a youngster.

be very careful and watchful when changing a cats diet...this can leave them nauseated, and leave you vomit to clean up... if i had to offer a suggestion.... i have on occasion mixed in shredded chicken (breast) into my cats dry food to eventually get her to eat canned food...we had to do this to get her to eat..she was losing weight... and we got a dog not long ago...and the poor cat had to sit by her bowl all day to guard it... so we had to give the cat smaller portions...long story..but you get it i think... anyway...this worked for us...
