It's not rude or ignorant. "kosher" is a religious diet based solely on words from the old testament of the bible. Muslims would not use this word though, so assume ANYONE who says they are "kosher" practices some form of Judaism. Regardless of their race. Muslims call their diet "Halal." They will not use the word "Kosher," although they may purchase Kosher foods because the foods are similar. You can always ask, too! You can say "that means you are Jewish, right? I am still trying to learn English." If you say that, no one will be upset that you are asking. They will be happy that you are interested in learning about their culture.

Kosher is being used more by young people for various meanings. I have heard the following from all kinds of white people and this is how I understood it to be.: When every thing is chill "Don't worry, everything's kosher." 1) See "tight" 2) To be worthy of acceptance 3) good "That party was kosher" "That new guy is pretty kosher" "It's all kosher"

No because thinking someone who says they are Kosher is Jewish, doesn't stem from a negative place... maybe it's a bit ignorant, but I wouldn't say it's racist.

This has nothing to do with race, colour or religion. It's an expression meaning everything is legal and correct. As kosher food is for jewish people. Prepared and squared away Bristol fashion. ( Now you have another expression)

Mack Originally Answered: Why do people assume if you ask a weight and dating question that you must not have any self esteem?
I will not lie to you. When it comes to dating, looks and weight are very important. You can have all the self esteem in the world, but if the guy/girl you like isn't attracted to your looks/ body type, it won't make one bit of difference. We humans are funny that way. We are attracted to what we are attracted to, and there isn't much we can do about it. Getting back to your original question though, I believe the reason people say, "Have more confidence." is because someone who is secure and confident usually doesn't ask questions about weight or height. I think people just assume that you are insecure, because you have ask the questions. Assumptions are never a good thing, though. Good luck on reaching your target weight. For some people it can be a constant and uphill battle, that is very frustrating.
