Question: I need to gain weight, besides increasing my calorie intake, what excersizes should I do in addition to make sure I'm gaining muscle? If I excersize, will I have to eat even more calories than I do when I don't excersize but gain weight? I don't want to just eat because I want to be fit not fat

exercise builds muscle, and since muscle weighs more than fat, you'll put on more weight by body building than by putting on fat. The fastest way to increase muscle mass is to do high intensity body building with weights in a gym. This activity can be extremely dangerous, as I've personally seen countless torn muscles due to overworking or overloading on weights. Join a good (expensive) gym, hire a trainer (part of the package when you join), and don't exceed his instructions. Tell him (or her) your only goal is increasing muscle mass and let his expertise do the rest (He gets asked this by every second person that signs up, so trust his advice. Also get as part of the package phisiotherapy, massage, spa and sauna, swimming pool access, and body building classes membership, and your on your way. Diet: increase protien intake, particularly beans, lentils, nuts and seeds, as these are low in saturated and trans fat. Increase vegetable and fruit intake, in raw unprocessed form. decrease carbohydrate, sugar and oil intake. decrease coffee, alcohol, tobacco, drug and medication intake. Eat only organic foods if possible, or atleast as much as possible. They taste better and direct nutrients to the areas needing it faster and more effectively. Increase intake of organic vitamin supplements but no steroids. Increase Omega 3 intake enormously: flaxseed oil is excellent source - add to salad.

Food consumption is the key to gaining weight. Increase your protein intake by 40%. You can achieve this by using a protein supplement ( shake, bar, etc.... ). Eat larger portions of food as well , but keep the foods light in fat. Eat fish, chicken and turkey. All can be eaten with rice. Increase the weight that you use during your work outs. Stay away from excessive cardio exercises and maintain a great sleeping pattern . Remember that your body heals and grows while you are asleep. Get a minimum of 8 hours nightly. Good luck.

I would strength train and take up jogging. And yes, you'd have to up your calorie intake to compensate for calories burnt during exercise. Do some research on healthy ways to gain weight, or talk to your dr. Eating the wrong foods will add unwanted fat instead of healthy fat.

I believe in food lifting exercise . The best way to accomplish this is to go to the all-U-can shovel in your pie hole buffet at 11:00am and work out there till they close. Do this for an 8 week program and work out for 8 hours a day lifting food into your mouth. Make sure you bring in your own roll of toilet paper since these buffet restaurants often forget bathroom amenities. Remember that your bowel movement is a cue to get back to the trough and resume shoveling. Look for the fatty foods and shovel till you can't take anymore. Since I have initiated this regiment , our local Chinese American buffet style restaurant has worked with me as a trainer to help people gain weight. We have worked out an eight week pass discounted price for all members of the Shoveler's Club. At the end of our diet program , many of our club members have to turn sideways to squeeze through the door. We heartily believe that most people should weigh at least 300 lbs to live an optimal lifestyle. Best to you , BOSCO
