The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:
*1) Burn more calories then you're consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity. Get a diet and fitness calculator that you can put on your computer or cell phone. This will allow you to easily calculate this formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.
*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.
Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:
Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Here is an excellent food pyramid that anyone can follow: http://www.rayandterry.com/html/images/P...
*3) Exercise on most days by doing cardiovascular training and/or resistance training activities.

It is not possible to spot reduce fat in just one part of your body, like your belly. In order to lose belly fat you will need to lose the fat all over your body.
In short you may need to start:
1) Eating healthier, this means:
Eat smaller meals
Eat more meals a day
Don’t starve yourself
Eat more vegetables and fruit
Drinks more water
Less sugars and empty calories (less soft drinks, cakes, cookies)
Switch to whole wheat versions of your bread and pasta, brown rice instead of white rice
Forget crunches, crunches work your ab muscles but they dont burn enough calories to lose belly fat, if you do hundreds of crunches daily you will have great abs but you wont see them under your belly fat.
Prefer full body exercises they burn the most calories and increase you metabolism for a few hours after your workout.
Get a training partner or a fitness trainer, a very worthwhile investment - of the money you save on junk food for example =)
Try also to reduce stress and get enough sleep. Both of these are related to weight gain and emotional eating.

I wish you all the best,
Alot of the answers here are great but you have to find out what works for you, you know something you can live with. I will now share that I have found works for me and I feel moderation is the key as far as eating. I have cut my portion sizes and do not go back for seconds. Walking is a great exercise as well as all over toning and using 3lb weights to firm things and remember lean muscles burns fat. Also when I quite drinking alot of soda pop I lost 10 lbs right off the bat. Also I have one cheat day a week to have a treat of my choice because total abstinence from goodies makes one binge.
I believe in you and know that you can do what you set your mind to and remember if you do slip do NOT beat yourself up because you are your own best friend or your own worst enemy so be kind to yourself :)

I've tried many diets and couldn't make anything work. Since having my first child, I've been carrying around an extra 30 pounds. This diet just made sense and showed me that everything I was doing before was wrong and a waste of my time.
The plan was so refreshing and so simple to follow. I did everything plan said and lost 23 pounds in the first three weeks. I'm now starting the diet again to lose 7 more pounds. This plan has changed my life.
Get started today!

The lower belly is the TOUGHEST to lose. I have lost several pounds and several inches since January with diet and regular exercise. GNC has a supplement called CLA that is all natural and targets that hard to lose belly fat. You don't have to exercise but I know from experience that WITH exercise you can lose easier. I do crunches and sit ups daily. I've lost 6 inches alone in my belly. It does take at least 30 days to start seeing the effects but keep taking it daily. I've been very pleased. But like anything else, talk to your parents before taking anything.

Do plenty of situps. Crunches help as well. Any excercise that localizes the stomach muscle area.
Why do you have a big belly at 16? It took me at least 40 years and I stopped playing sports to get that.
Maybe playing some sports like basketball and baseball will help.

When you learn how to mindfully eat foods to reduce body fat you give yourself a ton of weight loss advantages. First of all mindful eating slows your pace of eating which allows you to naturally eat less and feel more satisfied. It also helps you appreciate the taste of foods better and this allows you to make better eating decisions in the future. This article shows you how to mindfully eat foods to reduce body fat and feel more in control around food.
1. Eat with your eyes, nose, ears, mouth and tongue. In other words, use all 5 of your senses when you eat. Experiment with this fun strategy the next time you eat. Pause long enough to really look at your food, then take a sniff to see if you notice an aroma, now take a bite and listen for a crunch and then note how the food feels inside your mouth and how it tastes.
2. Turn off distractions. The TV, computer and email will take your focus off of your food, so push the off button.
3. Don't overcrowd your mouth. Take your time and enjoy the process of eating, chew each mouthful completely and swallow everything in your mouth before taking another bite.
4. Set a timer. To really test your pace set a timer the next time you eat and note the amount of time it takes, then aim to aid a minute each time you eat until it takes you 20 minutes to eat a meal.
You can learn how to mindfully eat foods to reduce body fat and this will naturally lead to easy weight loss.
