Eat more foods rich in vitamin B3 (niacin) to heal and speed recovery of canker sores ie ~ fish, lean meats, whole wheat products, liver, wheat germ, eggs, the white meat of poultry, avocdadoes, dates, figs and prunes. Vitamin B3 rich foods will help eliminate canker sores and more often than not bad breath too. It will also give you healthier looking skin and help prevent and ease severity of headaches and migraines, reduce symptoms of diarrhea and increase circulation and reduce high blood pressure. Vitamin B3 is necessary for a healthy nervous system and brain functioning and lack of it will generally also bring about negative personality changes. Take a multi B complex tablet including all the B's ie: B1, B2 B3, B5, B6 and B12 as they work best synergistically (together)....... do not take any of the B complex of vitamins individually, but rather as a whole complex, unless specifically instructed to by a nutritionally oriented physician or naturopath. The B complex of vitamins is essential for healthy neural, digestive and immune system functioning. If you are lactose intolerant or vegetarian then it is really important that you supplement your diet with a multi B complex tablet on a daily basis. Things that will rob you of your precious B complex of vitamins are :- stress, eating too much protein, alcohol, eating too much tinned food, laxatives and diuretics, antiobiotics, antidepressants, penicillin, prednisone and aspirin, otc cold and flu medicines. Also, try to cut back on drinks such as caffeine, tea, sodas and soft drinks as they are all B complex thieves........ as well as being great at dehydrating you. Drink loads more fresh filtered water too as the healthiest and happiest body will always be the most hydrated one. Is it possible that you have Coeliac disease ?? It is an inability to digest the grains barley, oats, wheat and rye due to a sensitivity to gluten which is a compound found in those grains....Mouth ulcers and dermatitis around the corners of the mouth are common in Coeliac disease. The gluten damages the cells lining the small intestine, and the mucosal surface becomes flat, losing the normal folds known as villi. These damaged mucosal cells are unable to absorb nutrients from the food and severe nutritional deficiencies eventually occur. Coeliac disease is often hereditary. The disease can begin at any age and in children, it appears after weaning them onto gluten containing foods. In adults it usually begins in the third and fourth decade, and its more common in females. The symptoms are usually very gradual in onset and may start with only fatigue. Common intestinal symptoms include abdominal discomfort, bloating, diarrhoea and weight loss. There is difficulty in absorbing fat from the food. This makes the bowel actions large, pale and fatty so that they tend to float on top of the water and are difficult to flush down the toilet. Of course it may just be that you are run down and have been unwell too....... swish some warm salty water around in your mouth to ease the pain .... You only need about 2 teaspoons of salt in half a cup of warm water ....... swish it around in your mouth and spit it out a few times. peace ♥

Put finely powdered POTASH ALUM on your mouth sore. It may hurt a bit initially and you may not like the taste. Do this several times a day to speed up the healing. TRY IT.

Tonya, Yes, yes. I used to have periods. and when I had them, The Lupus while on my period would make any flare so much worse. Dr's are now putting together the fact that female hormones and Lupus may go hand in hand. I know from polling people in several Lupus support groups that 80% of the women have problems that worsen with their period or have problems with their period in genereral. In fact about 20% have had Hysterectomies young. I had mine at 29. My skin like yours felt like someone was cutting me with cut glass or razor blades. While I have some skin issues still, nothing like I used to. I have a 13 year old, while not diagnosed, or seemingly showing outward signs of Lupus yet, had to be put on the pill. It is helping with her premenstrual symptoms, and shortening her periods. I read a study recently, that being on the pill with Lupus, probablly DOES NOT make Lupus worse. The study was done either out of UCLA or a large East Coast Hospital. Just watch and get Gyno visists. At 28 they found I had endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and early cervical cancer ( no chemo needed, because I was checked all the time) But Talk to you r Rhuematologist. She may have recomendations. I know Plaquinil can help with skin issues, but it can only help so much, and when the skin problems are that severe, it may not be of much help. I wish you luck, and suggest you talk to your Gynocologist, and rhuematologist. Thanks Chris
