I'm Planning on losing weight before my next year of school...Some Of the girls is my school lost a lot of weight by quiting Junk Food...But Thats more than just candy and sweets right?...What foods are considered junk food that i should stay away from to lose weight?..Right Now I Drink Herbal Tea In the Morning to Curb my Appetite..Anyother Idea I had was to Just Eat Salads and Vege's for Lunch..But I'm Getting Sick of that...Then For Dinner Lately I've Been having regular dinner foods...I Also Eat Lean Cuisines for lunch Every now and Then..They Are Good and They Help You Lose Weight. Anything thats not somewhat natural stay away from. Is herbal tea all you do in the morning??It has been proven that you will lose more weight if you eat a good breakfast then if you dont. Also drink alot of water. Cant forget CARDIO. I wouldnt suggest taking weight loss pills.

Chips, Soda, Eating out all the time Yes Candy, eating brownies cookies all those yummy fatning food that we find soooooo good and know they are bad for us is junk food. Lean Cuisine is good. Eat healthy. and exercise thats the best way to loose weight. thats is if you commit yourself to doing it. Its about commitment. Fall inlove with your health and see what you can do to make it better!! good luck.

Stay away from chips, buttered popcorn, pizza, sugary sodas, candy of course, a lot of bread, french fries, and burgers. Stick with lean meats like turkey ham, fish, salads, (easy on the dressings,) water, whole wheat bread, to name a few.

eating water rich foods such as melons tomatoes and celery can help fill you up without adding too many calories to your day

add red pepper flakes to your pantry when eaten early in the day red pepper lowers the amount of food youll eat later

a pedometer can help keep track of your steps if you re not getting 10 000 steps a day you re not moving enough

When you started you weighed more than her so would have burnt more calories and had a higher threshold for weight loss,a heavier person can eat more and still lose weight.
Perhaps your friend is not counting her calories properly,the only accurate way is to use a food scale and also measure liquids,it is not starvation mode,that is a myth and anyone genuinely eating 1200 calories over a period of time will lose weight but if she is eating at too great a defecit it could hinder progress.
The reason for that is because if your defecit is too large and you eat too little your metabolism can slow right down and also you either dehydrate or your body panics and prepares to dehydrate so it retains water,it is always better to look online,get a TDEE guide and go now lower than 20% below the calories burnt from daily activity.
Also if she is not giving her body enough fuel then her jogging and any other exercise wont have the same impact because her body simply will not have the energy to put the same amount of effort in so she wont burn calories as well as she would if she was fuelling herself properly.
1200 calories is only really suitable for an older,short,sedentary female and at 5ft 6 and exercising she does not fit into that category and should be calculating a healthier defecit.
