Question: okay im a male and i used to be 11 about 4'10 165lbs and then i went to about 5'4 170 lbs then 5'7 160lbs and now i am15 5'10 145lbs and i workout quite a bit like i do 75 situps a day in sets of 25 and ive been doing that for about 4 or 5 months and im decently strong i bench about 115 curl 20lbs per hand but for some reason it seems like the lower part of my stomach is very out of shape like it looks like i have 4 abs then like fat at the bottom but the thing is i dont think it is fat because i can strech it about 1-2 inches and if i suck my stomach in i can still grab it is it extra skin from the weight i lost?? and if so what can i do?

jumping jacks, leg lifts, and side twists tone up your abs and rids love handles better than almost anything... other than that, cold contrasts and heat expands, so if you have excess skin (skin tightening tends to lag weight loss by several months in many cases) cold baths can definately help to tighten your skin much faster. Massaging/twist pinching loose skin also helps.

Work out, walk and use weights I have an ab machine. Making a long story short-I shattered my leg, I was already over weight-but losing weight and shattered both bones and my ankle when I slipped on black ice. The doctors told me it was the worst damage from a fall and the most hardware put in, they ever seen. They said I wouldn't walk again. I put on the weight I lost, plus over 125 lbs. From serious depression. I did the weight loss surgery and worked out 2 times a day, toning up so well that I do NOT need the skin removal-I lost 250 lbs!!!!!!!! I am NOT suppose to be my size for another year. I have seen people have skin removal and my body is still more tone than theirs-without all the scars!!!!!!!! Just eat right and work out. I know with a baby you can't just go walking or to a gym-I turned my living room into a gym..lol. an ab machine is my favorite and got it for $5.00 thrift store-I had a few different kinds-but my ab and gazelle machine was my favorite. I paid around $100.00 for my gazelle, but you can go on craigslist too and look for cheaper. You don't have to beat yourself to death-you have to realize-I was working to lose a whole person...So you should have NO problem and you can do it at home. The weight came off in less than a 1 1/2 years and I came completely out of that damn wheelchair!!!!!!!!!!! Never walking again, simply was NOT an option-I am a single mom...with no family. Extra skin happens when you lose a lot of weight in a short period of time which is another reason why the experts recomment you to lose 1-3 pounds a week to prevent this problem. Other factors will determine if you will have this problem: - how long have you been overweight. if a long long time then it is harder for your body to shape back to normal - your age - due to our skin elastic declines I would not worry about excess skin it could put you off losing weight. Even if you had excess skin you would still feel a lot better and happier from losing the weight and getting into your normal, healthy BMI range. Losing weight slowly and doing weights/strength training will help you to prevent this plus numerous other benifits. As to stretch marks- its a fact of life more women get them then men. They will fade over time. Creams do not work. Just look after yourself and diet that will help. Hope this helps you. good luck in your weight loss journey.

Congratulations on the weight loss! You are in a very exclusive club. Very few people your age actually lose that much weight. Very few people any age lose that much weight. I am truly excited for you. Excess skin is normal with extreme weight loss like yours. You need to maintain your healthy diet and continue with moderate exercise. The real benefit is your age. Once people fully mature around 25 the elasticity of the skin starts to drop so you are golden. You have been patient and successful to this point. Continue to be patient and your loose skin should disappear over the next several years. Your body is just starting to produce the hormones to add lean muscle mass and I am confident the loose skin will not be an issue in a few years. Congrats again!
