Question: Breakfast- 5 pieces of sugar free bacon. Snack- sugar free jello cup with whipped cream. lunch- piece of turkey breast, slice of cheese and 5 olives. dinner- 6 oz. fillet (steak) steamed cauliflower i have lost about 13 pounds but this is my 4th week and i stopped losing weight about 4 days ago. i eat very low carb but i have stalled, what can i do?

I think you are only stalling if it last for more than 2 weeks...you have lost at least 3.25 pounds per week. I don't think you are eating enough. Good luck.

I say you need to eat a little bit more, especially from the sound of your activity. I mean, I lose weight on about 2,000 calories sometimes - I don't ever workout, only go to school 3 times a week and weigh less than you. Besides, you're still growing. 1,700 calories is what a pretty inactive girl would need a day. I would say you need closer to 2,000, but 1,800 minimum. For breakfast, I say swap the egg-yolks for some wholemeal toast. Your lunch is a bit too little, I say have a low-fat or fat-free yogurt with it as well as maybe adding some fish or chicken to your salad. Your dinner was not that many calories, my dear. More like 400 for the sandwich, IF it managed to get to that much. Obviously, your only problem is that you need to eat more because all the food you're having seems to be pretty healthy. Why not have some more fruit or yogurt as a snack or a side of a meal at sometime of the day? Or you could add a little olive oil to your salad or snack on some nuts to add some healthy fats and calories to your diet.

Breakfast is great. Lunch I would add some meat on there, maybe some grilled chicken? Dinner is good, 2 slices of wheat should be around 200 calories, veggies other than avocado calories really should be ignored, it's mostly water and the calories never go above 100-150, the lunch ham meat 100 tops and cheddar is around 100 calories so 500 is a good guess. If anything, you can just choose healthier school lunch options and eat parents cooking, saving 600 calories to make room for dinner since it's hard to make meals especially in school. 1700 calories is enough food and a healthy amount. Good job.

It only works for so long. All that does is let you lose the water weight that it takes to process the bread. Keep in mind that meat does the same exact thing. I happen to know a nutritionist that things the whole diet is a bad fad and has no lasting effects.

Isn't the atkins diet just cutting out carbs.. so i take it just start tomorrow with a carb free.. or as close as u can get to carb free diet

G - you obviously don't know anything about Atkins, or you'd know that what she is doing IS what Atkins says, except that he would recommend real eggs (avoid proccessed foods) and the almonds should wait until you are in OWL. And research shows that frozen veggies are usually more nutritious than "fresh" ones, because they are frozen as soon as they are picked, whereas "fresh" veggies are shipped and stored for long periods before you buy and cook them. It will work if you follow the plan correctly, but many people find that they lose more slowly than they did before, probably because they are older and their metabolism has slowed. Remember, Atkins should be a permanent lifestyle change, not a quick weight loss diet.
