Question: i'm confused. i thought carbs were just things like bread and pasta. what other foods are carbs too?

Carbohydrates are found in any food grown in the ground and milk products. There are good carbs and bad carbs! Good carbs are dark green leafy veggies like spinach, tomatoes and things like that. High sugar content are starchy veggies like potatoes, carrots, corn, peas and dried beans/lentils. Most but not all root veggies fall in this catagory. Rices also comes under this list. Meats and nuts fall in the protein and fats catagory. Anything that uses flour or sugar usually has carbs in it; All pasta, breads, rice, sweets, biscuits, non-diet soft drinks. Even pasta sauces and tomato ketchup have carbs in them.. Yoghurt, all veg, fruit and potatoes have carbs in them .. I think the only thing that doesn't is Meat and fish.. I think a low carb diet would be better than no carb.. My boyfriend did a low carb diet and he basically allowed himself no more than 20-30g of carbs a day, so his daily diet would be: Breakfast: Berries and the lowest carb yoghurt he could find, we found this to be soya yoghurt Or 2 boiled eggs Lunch: A pack of bernard matthews Turkey and a small salad Dinner: A chicken breast or Salmon fillet, grilled/baked with no seasoning or oil and some veg. He lost 4 stone in 3 months following this diet so it definitely works!

Sugars, Starches & Fiber are the basis of Carbs.. They turn into energies when they enter your body system. You can burn it up straight away or store it in the fat for later. Carbs are the main source of energy for the body. Carbs are what gives us all the energy we need. If you over eat carbs thats when they turn into fats & because they are solid it is harder to burn up when in body storage.

a lot of starchy foods have carbs in them too. things made from potatoes and corn are carbs as well. i think it has something to do with how these products are grown. like the grains and wheats in flour products are similar to the stuff in corn and potatoes which makes them so starchy. hope that helps!

bad carbs.rice, cookies, cakes, ice creams, and everything that has sugar in it and cream and candys. good carbs :banana , mango , grapes.
