Question: ok so i eat like a slob and im in good shape.And I wash my face twice a day with proactive.I still have acne.Its not as bad as used to be,the poactive helped but it's still kinda bad.I'm just wondering about my diet.I heard diet is what causes acne.if i start eating health how long would i have to wait to expect results? And i go outside and tan my face for 10mins cause i heard that helps to...Any reasonable answer will be much appreciated!

I go to the dermatologist and the doctor says as long as you're not eating tons of oils and fats a day, it wont really affect acne. Proactive doesn't work for everyone. You should just go to the dermatologist and get a prescription. Also have a chat, it won't hurt. As to tanning, it really does help if you have scars. The scars will go away with time after tanning. If you have all live acne, it won't really do anything. Just keep hydrated and don't irritate your skin. Pick up a cleanser.

Diet does not cause acne. Hormones are the main cause of acne in teenage kids. I don't know exactly how you wash your face but do not use any abrasive cloth or scrubber! The best way is to soap up your hands and gently rub your face with your hands only. Proactive is not a good product. It is great marketing but all the products are very old technology and are way below what is available by prescription. If you really want to invest in your appearance, go see a dermatologist and ask about Benzaclin, Duac, or Differin. He/she will likely give you a combination of these and possibly an oral antibiotic. I know its expensive, but if you have health insurance, don't wait any longer. Go get the treatment you deservea and be happy with yourself! Good luck.

You should probably give it 2-4 weeks to see results. It takes a little while for the acne to clear up and then you might need a little bit longer to see if any new acne is popping up.

i've got had zits for some years. i replaced into so purple and scarred, you're able to think of that worldwide conflict II have been given fought on my face. no longer something helped greater desirable than a splash. First, take a deep breath. Exhale. You are just fine! You shouldn't take this as a quick diet approach, you should generally change your life style. Cut back on sweets and junk food, eat more fruits, veggies and whole grains. Also watch your portion sizes. Stop drinking soda if you can, but at least cut way back on it. Make sure you are drinking a lot of water. Just drinking water alone will help your body SO much. I'm talking weight, acne/skin and internally. It helps your body to perform at it's best. The next thing to do is to stay active. I know it's HARD. But you just have to push yourself. Take long walks, clean the house from top to bottom every day, go swimming/biking if that's possible. Personally, I like to make play lists of some of my favorite songs and just dance. I make sure the play lists are at least 30 min. long. That's 30 min. of good exercise as long as you dance the whole time the music is playing. If 30 min. is too hard, make three play lists that are each 10 min. long and just do ten minutes in the morning, ten in the afternoon and ten at night. It doesn't really matter what you do for exercise, just keep your body moving and your heart beating fast! Also a pedometer is a great weight loss tool. They are super cheap, like a $1.00 at Wal-Mart. I ALMOST FORGET THE #1 MOST IMPORTANT THING YOU CAN DO TO HELP YOURSELF! I got this information from my personal dietitian/nutritionist, so you can trust that it's accurate. If you want to better yourself you absolutely must get enough sleep every night. You will not succeed in ANYTHING until you do this. When you don't get enough sleep it messes with your brain and makes it harder to function. It makes it harder to think, to make good decisions, to have will power and self control. So here's a re-cap: 1. Get 8-10 hours of sleep a night. 2. Keep your body moving as much as possible. 3.
