ok first, your friend is doing a disservice to her body by trying to gain weight by eating candy. there are healthy ways to gain weight, like taking in more calories in the form of proteins, unsaturated fats and whole grains, but stuffing your body with candy and simple sugars is NOT the way to go. those are empty calories--no vitamins, proteins, good fats or good carbs.
you don't need to be on a diet, you're too young to require a diet, and once you stop dieting the weight will just come right back. you need to work on balancing your meals (refer to the food pyramid), and avoiding the candy that your friend is destroying her body with. for each meal, eat slowly and eat only until you feel full. also, a little bit of exercise most days of the week should work too. since you're so young you probably have a high enough metabolism that a 30-minute fast-pace walk per day should be enough, just as long as you get your heart pumping.

1. dont bank on the words 'fast','easy','simple' & 'quick'....to stay safe, you shoudnt lose beyond 4 pounds of fat per week
2. start brisk walking 40-60mins a day...get a dog or 2 if you find your walking routine boring..or if you are at a gym, experiment all forms of
cardio available and stick to all that you like
3. drink only water,100% natural/fresh fruit/veggie juices, lowfat milk and lots of green tea
4. severely limit carbs n fat but eat lean proteins and veggies very well..make sure you eat a good breakfast!foods generally that aid fat loss-
fruits, oatmeal, milk, raw nuts, fish, beans, veggies, small chunks of dark chocolate and herbal teas.
5. do lots of pilates/yoga/strength training to get the best from your cardio
6. be smart when eating out or at events/functions(such as preparing your own meal & eating in advance)
7. dont trust myths like "no food after 7pm"...you have to stay nourished to lose fat,..the best you can do if you are scared to eat is perhaps
drink a glass of ice chocolate lowfat milk mixed with a tsp of instant softened oatmeal...
8. Always push yourself n never give up!but get enough rest too...Stay focused on your goal and God bless you...
you are in going into 6th grade. Don't worry about diets, if you are at your friends house just try not to eat a ton of candy. But if you work out and try and eat healthy meals you will be just fine.

You're wicked young to be dieting. But if you want to try to eat healthier, you could try being vegetarian, or even semi-vegetarian (eats chicken, turkey, and fish, but no other meats like cow and pig). Meat animals are treated terribly prior to their death, and each vegetarian saves about 100 animals a year. I've been a vegetarian my whole life and have been relatively healthy, but I've been vegan for about two months and have really noticed a difference in my weight.

i had the same problem
youre too young to diet and get embarrased, your friends eat alot, and you dont like your body
eat very healthy dont give in to candy you need to lose the weight before you have your period if you havent yet. that way it will be easier to keep it off cause your body is changing while your skinny

just try your best to eat healthy and get plenty of exercise. if you have some free time, go for a jog, a bike ride, or even walk. anything you can do to stay active will help a lot.

Well - it's tough. It's so much easier to deny and lie. But it sounds as if you're not far off your idea weight.
You could read about the Atkns diet - that's my favorite. "New Diet Revolution" - should be in the library - or get it used off of Amazon Books. You eat real foods - no junk - no sugar - no starch. You eat meat, cheese, eggs, nuts, a little salad and any other protein sources you can think of.
What you DON'T eat are processed foods. So the Atkins is fairly cheap to do. There's a LOT of profit in processed foods - that's why they sell so many at the store.
You can lose your few pounds easily in a week or so - and then you'd just have to decide how much of Atkins you'd want to stay on. If you go back to American junk food, then you'll just gain the weight back.
One nice thing about Atkins is that it cuts WAY down on cravings for junk foods. When you don't eat this stuff anymore, you hardly think of them. The Atkins changes your body chemically - and you're supposed to have less cravings.
