He should eat fish instead of meat for the rest of his life. Prefer salmon over all other fish because it has been linked to dramatic reductions in heart disease risk. He should never eat fried foods. He should always eat green vegetables for lunch and dinner and and other colors as extras. He should start his day with oatmeal topped with blueberries. He should avoid sugar like the plague. He should walk 40 minutes a day at a moderate pace, every single day.

Ask your doc to give you a referral to a nutritionist. Dietary changes are probably needed, but not necessarily so extreme as to cut out foods you like to eat. Completely avoiding things is a simple way to minimize cardiac risks, but complete avoidance isn't necessary. The goal is to get a balanced mix of various nutirents while minimizing fats and oils that have low density cholesterol, and making sure you don't get too many calories. You can eat all sorts of things when they are part of a balanced diet.

Okay, who ever the first answerer was should just shut up. God has nothing to do with, so just shut up. I would recommend looking at your diet and also the type of life you are leading. Cholesterol could also be a factor. Typically, it is bad to have ANY type of stimulant. Stimulants are things like caffeine, guarana, nicotene, alcohol. Anything that has adverse effects on the body is bad for you, although some good Matcha Green tea will work wonders for your health. Its loaded with antioxidants. I would also recommend perhaps VERY light exercise. Walking is good for this. I meditate for 30 minutes every morning, and walk for about 45 minutes. Then have a nice cup of tea with some egg whites and raw vegetables. There are lots of different degrees you can go to in terms of being healthy, it just depends on how far you want to go. I can't tell you nescessarily how healthy you NEED to be to keep heart problems from continuing, but I can garauntee you that If you pursue a healthy life style, you will have a much better chance of not dealing with such things again. Let me know if youhave any dietary or health related questions. I used to smoke and drink every day and I am a changed man. Good luck to you.

Do everything in moderation, although I'm not sure it's possible to smoke in moderation. One or two drinks a day is better for you than not drinking at all, especially if its red wine. Take fish oil supplements that contain Omega-3 fats is the same as eating a lot of fish. One 81 mg (low dose) aspirin every day keeps the blood slightly thin to prevent clots.

It doesn't matte, there's too many factors. Only virtue and repentance will allow him to go on in this world.

Ricky Originally Answered: What is thyroid ? What are the symptoms ? If untreated could it yield to enlarge of the heart or heart attack?
The thyroid is the gland found in front of your throat or trachea. It produces hormones that are necessary for metabolism of your body. Your thyroid can be hyperfunctioning (hyperthyroid) meaning it produces more than what is needed, hypofuntioning (hypothyroid) when it produces less than what hormon is needed or it can be euthyroid, it means you have enough. there is also a small gland located in the brain that stimulates or control your thyroid, so even if basically your thyroid is ok, if the pituitary gland is abnormal, it can cause your thyroid to either produce more or produce less hormones. The more hormones it produce, the larger the gland gets. You had toxic thyroid, it means thay you have a hyperfunctioning gland. the problem with this is that the hormones produced cause faster metabolism, therefore you can have increased heart rate, increase metabolism of the body so weight loss, poor tolerance to heat and cold, tremors, etc. eye problems can also manifest, like proptosis or protruberance of the eyeballs. You have to have your hormone levels check to see if its normal, whether you need supplements or anti-thyroid hormones. Your heart enlarges because the greater/faster metabolism exerts a higher toll in your body, increase HR, so the muscles in the heart are overdeveloped (just like when you do weight lifting, if you keep exercising the muscle, it grows bigger!)
