Diets and exercises which claim to 'target fat' in particular areas are nonsense; you can target muscles to work out and tone them but not target fat areas. The body uses up fat stores from all over the body when you diet; because (in guys) the body stores fat mostly around the belly area (hips and bum in girls?) then when you start to lose fat the losses there are more 'dramatic' than losses from e.g. your face or your back. And of course, you can't see the stores of fat around places like your heart or liver, but these will be losing fat too. So the only advice I can really give is to exercise and follow a calorie controlled diet. You say you want to lose a 'good amount', a VLCD will do this for you if you follow it right, but it is worth getting into a routine of regular exercise to help keep the weight off once you get to where you want (this goes for all diets, not just VLCD)

The South Beach Diet is fabulous because it concentrates on areas of the body which store the most fat. I go to an endocrinologist which is a leading researcher in the field and it's been proven that a higher % of fat is lost in the abdominal area (and in fact areas where fat is concentrated the highest) when doing the SBD since it incorporates high protein, good carbs and the right type of fat. The first two weeks may seem a little hard (I didn't find it that hard), but your weight loss will be so dramatic you'll keep going. Get the book and read it. Don't skip around. You can finish it in one night since most of it are recipes. Good Luck! I know you'll do it! Abo, that's just not true. I go to one of the world's leading endrocrinologist and I have had MRIs done and know it works because I and many others are proof. It has to be a proper chemical combination and the SBD is the best out so far for the public. One more thing, controlling glucagon and insulin levels is far more efficient at losing fat than lowering calories and increasing exercise. Though, I do suggest increasing the exercise, but the correct glucagon and insulin levels will naturally cause you to eat the correct calories except in severe cases of anorexia, bulimia or compulsive eating...but even these are often cured with correct hormone levels.

i got here upon the e book to be very informative and ordinary to study. i've got lost 17 pounds in 12 days, i'm only worried that i'm dropping too lots weight, too today. i visit confess i've got not observed the instruction manual precisely. i'm not sticking completely to the listed ingredients and meal plans (yet normally) and doing little or no workout, however the load keeps flying off. It of course works and if i'd observed it precisely i think of it would scare the residing daylights out of me as a results of quantity that i'd lose. So thank you back for the counsel. i've got in no way offered something like this in the past as a results of fact they are often full of trash, yet 3WD has been a delightful marvel. start in the present day!

If your trying to lose some weight fast you should try not sleeping alot. It does affect your weight.. Get a smaller plate just for you so you put less on the plate, therefore you eat less. Don't go back for seconds everyday. Try running/walking a mile or two a day. Try to do exercise for a hour each day. Or just as much as you can.. Weigh yourself once a week for signs of progress. For suport notice the people around you and how they are affected. I hope this will help you some. And i hope you lose the weight you want to. =) -Katie. =)

I'm a 17 year old male. I can relate. It is like a sharp pain while you move or breathe deeply. I do not know what it is called, but it is not a big deal and definitely not a heart attack lol. It is best to not move and breathe shallow and calmly. After a minute, if not gone yet do light streching and continue the calm, shallow breaths. I have found increasing calcium in your diet helps. No serious health issue though. :)
