Question: I am a 12 year old girl weighting 182pounds (13 stone)! I know I am really over weight but I really want to lose quite a lot of weight and quite fast. I need tips please! I am trying to eat less! I want to get down to about 8/9 stone! Anytips much appreciated! xx

In order to lose 1lb a week, you need to burn 3,500 calories a week (500 a day). So in order to lose 2lbs a week, you need to burn 7,000 calories a week (1,000) a day. I'm assuming you live a sedentary/light activity lifestyle (you probably go to school, walk around, etc.) so on average, you should be burning 1700-2000 calories a day just by existing and doing normal things. Now, that means nothing when you replace those calories with food because while you might burn 1700, but you might eat 2000 (leading to weight gain). In order to lose weight, you need to create a calorie deficit, which is the number of calories left over when you subtract your consumption calories from your burning calories. For example: if you eat 1200 calories a day, and in that average day you burn 1700, your calorie deficit is 500 - so you've burned 500 extra calories. This is a good diet plan to start out with, since at 500 extra calories burned per day, you will (ideally, if you keep it up) lose 1lb a week. If you want to increase that number to ~1,000 extra c. burned per day and ideally lose 2lb/wk, you'll have to unfortunately increase calorie burn by probably adding exercise that burns 500 a day. However, 1200 calorie diets are generally recommended for sedentary people with NO exercise, so should you consider attempting to burn 1,000c/day, you'll probably need to up your caloric intake by an extra 200. Don't starve yourself over there! In short, you need to start counting calories and cut out fatty/junky foods that carry tons of calories in small packages. Weight loss is kind of simple math really. I found the book to be very informative and easy to read. I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off. It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise. Get started today!

If u r overweight losing 10 pnds is nothing! If you exercise and eat 1200 cals each day and try to be very very active and play around with diets cause you won't hit a plateau if u do that! :) cheers and good luck!

you cant lose weight fast and keep it off, exercise and it shall go down depending on how much effort you put into it. you are too young to diet so just eat in moderation and dont eat anything after your dinner, including dessert
