Face makeup: Cover up acne or no?

Face makeup: Cover up acne or no? Topic: Face makeup: Cover up acne or no?

Question: It seems like when trying to cover up imperfections, a lot of women layer on the foundations and powders---making their skin look discolored, cakey, or even a bit flakey. (oo that rhymed) Or should they just leave it as it is...let the skin breathe and be comfortable with their flaws? I know your going to say NEITHER make it look good... No matter HOW hard I try I can't find a good medium between acne and a ton of makeup....even mineral powders are bit much sometimes. I have mild to moderate acne, stuff that is typically only noticed by me or really close up. I devote so much time and effort into getting clear skin, that it isn't funny anymore--not like it ever was...but ya know :)

hmmm. I think it's ok to go ahead and cover up imperfections. Just make sure that when applying makeup keep your hands clean and use a clean makeup sponge everytime if you use those. If you do your hair, especially with products...wash your hands before touching your face. Also wash pillow cases every two weeks, to keep oils from building up. Next, get a good face wash product. Cleanser for every morning and night...moisturizer and toner..and also when you sleep, make sure all makeup is off and use a spot treatment on bad acne flareups. Plus a lot of water and good diet will DEFINITELY help!!! Hope this helps.

NATURAL ACNE PROTOCOL 1/ Never, ever touch your face. 2/ Use 3 facecloths to wash your face, one to soap on, one to soap off with very hot water, one to rinse off with ice cold water, in that order, once a day. 3/ If you are under 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A once a day with a full meal 4/ If you are over 18 take 5,000 IU of vitamin A twice a day with a full meal. Do not get pregnant while taking vitamin A. Do not take any more, like Accutane, it will stop you growing. 5/ Never, ever. pick, squeeze or pop your spot. Read number 1 again. 6/ Do this for 90 days. 7/ Invest in a brand new pillow and 2 new or more pillow cases to double bag' your pillow. HOT wash every couple of days. Source: A bit of advice given to me as a teenager, a bit of science as I am studying allergic reactions and vitamin A is a part of that. A bit of research: I sat in a lecture at the back and watched the acne prone pick at their faces, those with the worse acne touched their faces 32 times in an hour, the clearest complexions didn't touch their faces even once. I have circumstantial evidence that acne is the result of dermatophyte transfer from hands to face...where it does not get washed off and is well fed by hormones, sweat a nd oil...just a hypothesis... But it would explain why vitamin A is so effective as vitamin causes skin to remove dermatophytes. The secret is never to touch the spots Tips on how to treat acne and achieve perfect clear skin in as little as 7 days?

Hi. I have been using the same makeup for the past 5 years and its just amazing. Dermablend. Its made by Dermatologisits. I have acne scars and some acne... and it covers them. It covers anything from Acne, Acne scars, Under eye circle, tattoos, Scars, Birthmarks, Varicose Veins, Stretchmarks, ect.... If you take a look at the before and after pictures on the website, it will just blow you away. Its quite remarkable. Its alittle pricey ($30), but it lasts 3 times longer than any other makeup, its last 16 hours and its waterproof. One thing usually lasts me 3-4 months, and that's a long time. Anyway, I hope ive helped. Take Care!

If you go to your local makeup counter, professional makeup artists can show you how to cover up imperfections without looking too cakey. Try using concealer only where you need it -- if you go to a store like Sephora, you can even find concealers that contain salicylic acid, which will help heal your acne while it covers it up! Benefit is a great brand, I have had a lot of success with them.

Sometimes just the oil on your face from make up and lotions, even from your hair can travel to your face causing acne to come out. Others, from stress, hormones & diet or foods. The beauty industry is a billion dollar business, they know acne is everyone's problem, but instead of saying soap is drying for you, they have to invent an acne product that can worsen the skin as MANY TEENAGERS have experienced during hormonal change, but as you get older those are completely a waste of time & money! The less products you use, the better for your skin. Use a bath wash like Suave, Irish Spring, Dove Bath & Body wash in the shower, use a washcloth. Treat your face like the rest of your body, take a shower everyday or wash your face everyday. The secret is keeping your face clean and oil-free. I also don't use liquid on my face for anything, and very little moisturizer, not even a dime size. Since my face is not dry. Good skin also comes from your good genes. Increase your fresh fruits & vegetables 3-5 servings per day. And programmed your mind to do this day after day, for the rest of your life. Acne medication could worsen what ever allergies you have, so instead of trying out one product after another, you're actually spreading it around.
