Question: Well my dad has diabetes and i have 50% of getting it, and i am gaining some weight, so i now have a 75% chance of getting it, so we need some healthy easy quick meals to make, any help? P.S no mushrooms please, my dad is allergic, thanks! another suggestion i will need to add: It runs in our family, my dad has it, my granpa had it, my grandma has it, my great grandparents had it, and so on.

Salads, Grilled foods, boiled veg and potatoes Fruit. Your dad will know his limitations in respect of how many grams of sugar type products he can eat ,You will still have to consume XXXX calories a day ( depending on Age/ height etc.) The food should be cooked around those parameters. Type "cooking for diabetics book" into a search engine, but I know you can buy one from Amazon under £10 ($15)

you know offspring don't have an inherent chance of getting type II diabetes, right? And if your dad has type I than you'd already have it from when you were born. So while being largely obese would give you some chance of developing type II -- it wouldn't be from the math you're using :) Anyhow, how about this chicken dish? cook and chop chicken breast (1 breast per person). Add 1 can salsa (label read or make your own). Add more tomatoes to taste. let that simmer a bit. Stir in a few crushed taco chips. Enjoy

steamed vegetables with no butter, use spices and herbs to flavor, an egg white omelette with no fat cheese and mushrooms, peppers if u like. roasted chicken non skin of course

i love to have brown bread, with cucumber slices, mayonnaise, a slice of cheese, lettuce and slices of tomato. YUUUMMM! even if u dont like any of that stuff, try it mixed togethter its LUSHH hope i helped :)

I think that this is a battle you will face for a lifetime unless you decide to change your lifestyle. Hot pockets and McDonalds are not good food choices. You have to prepare your foods. How you choose to prepare those foods is your choice- simple cooking techniques are easy to learn - and a salad with no-low cal dressing, a piece of fruit, and a container of yogurt, is as simple as anything to fix for lunch. Learning to eat fish is a lifeline to maintain weight loss. Make sure you buy at least 3 servings EACH of fruit and vegetables for each day. No cooking involved!! I make sure I buy 21 pieces/servings of fruit every week.
