If you think your baby is constipated then try this.. always works like a charm for me. Take a rectal thermomitor and insert about a quarter of an inch onto the rectum. The baby is not going to like it but they usually dont like when we use the blue sucker to get the boogers out either. Insert gently and move in a very small circle type motion. That usually helps break up the poop so it can come out. Good luck.

My pediatrician said do not worry right now/ Bowel habits do not form into a pattern until around 1 month old. If your baby is truly constipated, he will cry, grunt, and stools will be "rabbit pellet" like, in the words of my pediatrician. If this does happen, try apple juice 1 ounce at a time.

Your baby can have stomach pains, but he is only truly constipated if his stools are very hard and solid. Your boy could only poop once a week, but if the stools are soft and runny, it's not really constipation. If the stools are hard and solid, talk to baby's pediatrician at the next visit. Try holding your baby on his stomach and rubbing his back. This always works with my daughter!

If there pushing and making grunting noises for a while and u check their diaper and theres nothing, then there probably constipated. Well u cant give him water cuz hes to young ur gonna have to try the suppository, that u put up their butt and a couple mins later they will poop.

If she's gassy, and you're breastfeeding her, check your diet. It's always worth a try! Typical "gassy" foods are the first thing to cut out, followed by dairy. It could make all the difference. If you go this route, be patient, it takes a week or so to see results. Some babies just need motion to sleep, like a swing. Or she could just be going through a growth spurt that the moment, which might be interrupting her sleep. Babies are constantly going through sleep phases. Congrats to you by-the-way!
