I have the same exact weight loss goal because prom is in 2 weeks. Your age doesn't matter as much as your height. I'm 5'5 and weigh 148, but when I was 137 I looked perfectly skinny so I'm only 11 lbs overweight. I lost about 10 pounds in 2 weeks last summer when I ran 2 miles in the morning on an empty stomach except for water, 2 miles in the evening and cut out all the extra candy and sugar except gum. It just melted off with almost no effort. I also did some ab exercises like the plank and special crunches where it works your stomach and both sides instead of just your stomach. Also, when you run, jog or fast-walk for 30 seconds and then run for 30 seconds, then repeat. I don't know why but my cousin told me about it... she's really thin and I think it works better! Mix it up, too. Jump-rope outside is fun and really good for losing weight and working out your whole body without being in a stuffy gym. I didn't buy special food, didn't have the money, but I would suggest buying high-fiber cereal to keep you full and limit your regular meals by putting them on smaller plates. When you put them on smaller plates, it looks like more food and it also is a reasonable amount. Eat a little more slowly and you'll notice as soon as you feel full. Basically, eat fist-size portions of normal healthy foods throughout the day, just enough to keep you from getting hungry, and exercise. That way, you won't starve yourself and you'll be sure you're not overeating. Also, try not to totally restrict yourself from sweets unless it's easy for you. Saying "I can't have any cookies" will backfire when you go on a sugar binge because of not having sweets for weeks; say "I ate healthy food today and ran a lot, do I really want this cookie?" and if you do, just eat one or two and enjoy it. Try to eat fruit etc... not too much though as fruits contain fructose which if taken in large amounts may make you gain weight. Running, rowing, trampoline bouncing are all good ways of loosing weight AND training your heart to cope with long training sessions or sporting activities...
