Question: I walk 4 miles each day, and this has started last week. I've been eating a lot of green vegetables and meat, but I just want some help. What are some other tips on this journey that I could use. I want to lose about 30-40 pounds before school starts back in 2 months and 2 weeks. I just need some food or anything that will kill my hunger and desire for junk. HELP!!!!

You need to weigh up the calories you taking in sweetie and the ratio of exercise you are doing. We women have it unfair because our bodies can only take 2000 a day, so when wanting to lose weight, we have to take in much less. So that would be around: 1500. Sadly everything has calories in it and I was shocked to find that one wheatabix has 130 calories then add the sugar and then the milk and of course a drink and wow - tons of calories. I have wii fit plus and so each morning, after I have eaten, I wait for 30 mins and then exercise, which loses some of those calories. Then I have a biggish mean at lunch time and again exercise and try hard not to eat in the evening. Well last week, I lost 4lbs but this week, not so sure, as just today, I felt famished and even had a whole bar of chocolate, so I will be exercising like mad! I am probably being a bit fanatical about it lol but am on a roll and so .....! If you are hungry, then eat. Ideally use a small plate and so you can only fit a certain amount of food on it and drink water as this diminishes the hunger. I actually read that our bodies could be thirsty but we register it as hunger. Your body has got used to eating junk food ie wasted calories, so you need to untrain your body and the only way is to be hard on it and push yourself to not eat junk. What has pushed me into losing weight, is health issues. I am borderline diabetic 2 and so endeavouring to change that. It must be working because my waist has gone down to a size 36; it was around 46 before and apparently the ideal size is 35 for women, so I have a bit of way to go yet. But I have on a skirt I made not so long ago and actually had trouble putting it on and even split it around my hip area! This morning, put it on and it is too big - wow, wow and wow! I have to also have a belt so it does not fall off me; not bad going for someone who was reaching a size 18! I think that when you feel results happening, you feel even more motivated to continue. Unfortunately though, it is slow process but if you dedicate yourself to losing weight, it will happen. Wish you tons of blessings!

Hello: sounds like you're off to a great start. it is more difficult for women to lose weight than men. if you're already eating smaller portions try eating six small meals per day rather than 3 meals. the body needs fuel/food on a regular basis in order to burn off fat. when we do not eat or wait too long between meals our brain tells our body to store fat because it goes into starvation mode. believe it or not it doesn't take much to kick in this primitive mode of survival. i stayed away from fruit juice. i use to drink tons thinking it was healthy but it too is full of calories. i switched to water and that helped a Lot! i also drink water before each meal because it helps to make you feel full quicker. chew your food slowly and completely. chewing slower allows your brain to recognize that your stomach is full. chewing food completely allows for better absorption. the above did help but i still wasn't losing enough weight. so, i found a product called: Transitions. it blocks the absorption of fat and helps to convert fat. you can find it online at: www.marketamerica.com it really does work. take them w/a full glass of water before each meal. i am Not one for pills and such but Transitions is a Natural product with No side effects. when i added them to my diet i lost 50% more weight each week than without them! my boyfriend lost weight faster than me but that's the way it is for men. keep up the Great work and best of luck to you : )

I am dieting using the Chinese wholemeal diet (I call it that as an excessively huge man in China lost weight on this diet and it fixed his diabetes and several other medical issues he had due to being over weight). I lose about 4.5 pounds a week on this diet. (I was 299 pounds at one stage - now 248 pounds) It is rather restrictive though. Basically you can have anything wholemeal, rolled oats, brown rice, wholemeal pasta etc, and drink water. You don't have to exercise. (Google things considered 'wholemeal' for a complete list. The diet won't include bread though, so forget about wholemeal bread). The difficult thing is the diet is rather bland. BUT, I found once I started seeing results (which was immediately) I found it spurred me on, so I stuck with it. I did fall off the wagon and and a pizza and some other fast food at one stage and put weight back on, but then I got back on the diet again, and first day back on the diet lost 3 pounds. But, consult your doctor concerning this diet. I tried weight loss pills, but the ones prescribed by my doctor gave me heart palpitations and the 'natural' ones you can get without a prescription did nothing for me.

ok well i see some long a$$ answers that dont say a damn thing. wana lose weight? losing that amount of weight is a very realistic goal but its all up to u. its good that your walking. now start running. work your way up to where you run 3-4 miles a day 5 days a week. drink lots of water. ice cold water. stick to lean beef and grilled chicken.by lots of water i mean like a gallon. now once u lose thei weight u will need a different strategy to maintain but that is a topic for a later time.

Drink alot. I started drinking milk to every meal and then I didn't have the desire to eat as much. And it's more satisfying than a glass of water. You should also remember that vegetables contain calories so eating gross amounts of veggies aint good either. You gotta keep your calorie intake lower than what you burn.

to be honest the best way is not to go on a diet as ive tried them all and diet pills and they dont work lol but just change your diet and go swimming 4-5 times a week for about an hour each time it tones your tummy and all your body up wonderful too ! i lost 2 1/2 stone since may its great and i eat loads too im just eating the right foods but instead of swimming try aqua arobics its great and really fun ! great question goodluck !
